Being with Grief:
Empathy Playshop
When we cultivate empathy we begin to open our hearts. As we open our hearts into empathy this naturally allows us access to our grief from a space of resource and compassion.
Cultivating Empathy
When we cultivate empathy within ourselves we access our innate capacity to give and receive empathy in the face of our own and others deepest grief.
In this workshop we will:
Learn and practice empathy skills
Be guided in deeply restful embodiment practices
Have space to be seen and held with empathy in our grief
Connect to a felt sense of compassion within us
Be in a communal setting that welcomes grief
‘Empathy is communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘You are not alone.’ ~ Brené Brown
Remembering the Art of Grief and Empathy
We live in a grief-heavy culture, land and world. We have lost much of the traditional wisdom about how to move toward our grief, to feel it with empathy. Lacking tools and context for befriending grief with empathy, we tend to suppress and deny the grief that is in us. This contributes to the stuckness, overwhelm and avoidance so many of us experience, and the unfortunate repetition of cycles of dysfunctional ways of being in our lives and relationships.
When we meet our grief with empathy, we create a space for our being to rest into. When we slow down and feel our grief, responding with empathic presence, we create and embody new neural pathways of wholeness, belonging, and deep rest into our own being-ness. Then with the nourishment of our own being, we feed that within us which is ready to learn, grow, play, awaken, and joyfully co-create with the gift of our lives.
Being with Grief: Resting into Empathy is a 90 min workshop where we cultivate the skills and capacity to meet our grief with the healing presence of empathy.
This course is offered as supportive preparation or integration for our in person Community Grief Rituals. It can also be taken on it's own in your personal journey with grief.
